The Summit culminated in the adoption of the Doha Political Declaration—referred to by Mr. Guterres as a “People’s Plan”—which calls on nations to place people’s well-being at the core of policymaking and to channel concrete investments toward improving livelihoods.

SDC Shares Sustainability Practices in Solutions Square Exhibition
The Beijing International Exchange Association (BIEA), a Chinese NGO with UN ECOSOC special consultative status, was invited to attend the summit and host an exhibition booth in the Summit’s Solutions Square. The BIEA delegation was led by Ms. Wang Wei, Honorary Vice President of the BIEA's Sustainable Development Committee (SDC).
The booth highlighted BIEA-SDC’s engagement with the UN, its promotion of eco-community development in China, and international dialogue platforms such as the International Hanwang Forum. It also featured youth-centered initiatives supported by SDC and the Promotion Association for Global Youth Innovation Leaders Community (PILC), including the China International College Students’ Innovation Competition (CICSIC) and the 1st Ocean Decade Marine Eco-Restoration Award (OD-MERA 2025).

His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of Qatar, visited the BIEA-SDC booth on the Summit’s opening day. He experienced Chinese tea culture and exchanged views on sustainable development with SDC representatives. The visit underscored mutual support between China, Qatar, and other nations in advancing global sustainability through cultural and policy dialogue.

Building Partnerships for Sustainable Futures
Throughout the Summit, the SDC delegation had fruitful conversations with representatives from UN agencies—including UNDP, UN-Habitat, UN SDSN, and the UN Global Compact—as well as with the Qatar Investment Authority and delegates from Germany, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Cameroon, Senegal, Kenya, and Uganda.
SDC shared China’s experience in ecological governance and sustainable development, earning recognition for its green achievements and the tangible outcomes of the Belt and Road Initiative and the vision of a global community of shared future.
